What is in your Skin Care Products? Wheat, barley and oats- oh my!

Since hitting the big 3-0, I have been noticing lines and *GASP* wrinkles! I have never really thought too much about what was in the lotions and potions that I bought- thinking that they were all about the same. Boy was I wrong! After doing a bit of research, I found out that a lot of popular skin care products contain gluten. Not all people that have gluten allergies or an intolerance through ingestion will have trouble with contact allergies. I have super sensitive skin and a lack of knowledge on beauty products- so I needed an expert!

As if the skin care gods could see my wrinkles forming, I was contacted by Anessa, a fabulous Mary Kay beauty consultant. I had never researched MK's product line and thought it would be a great opportunity to get more information on skin care! I stopped freaking out about my crow's feet and invited over a few of my girlfriends for a girls' morning-in with free facials, fruit infused water and homemade panna cotta!

Anessa even set M up with her very own mirror, headband and lotion sample!

Anessa talked to Ashleigh about the importance of starting a quality skin care regimen at a young age.

I tried the Timewise collection for my facial. My skin felt so rejuvenated and soft!

Since I have been in the market for a new skin care line,  I explained to Anessa that I tend to react to products that contain wheat or oats. My former go-to face lotion always left me with red splotchy patches around my nose and on my cheeks. After only 3 days of using Mary Kay's TimeWise Miracle Set, I noticed the red splotches were going away!  I personally have noticed a huge difference in my skin after starting to use gluten-free skin care products. My skin is super sensitive and it was smooth sailing after trying Mary Kay's products. If you want to try a super gentle skin care line, Mary Kay also offers the Botanical Effects collection.

Lindsey, my friend from Redhead Baby Mama, tried the Botanical Effects line.

Botanical Effects, is a collection that boosts your skin's health with the goodness of botanicals!

Contact your Mary Kay Consultant if you have any questions about the ingredients of any of their products and they will be happy to find the right fit for you!

    1. Let's set up a FREE facial for you to try out our MK skincare products! Are you local? That's what great about MK is you can try before you buy and if after you buy you aren't 100% satisfied - you can swap it for something else or get your money back. Mary Kay is also backed by the good housekeeping seal of approval. That is how great this skincare line is! Send me a message through my website and we can get something scheduled.

  10. I had so many friends over the years as MK consultants. I have tried a few samples here and there but nothing tried long-term. I have really sensitive skin and trying new products never works out well for me so I hate to buy full size products and be stuck with it or deal with the hassle of a return.
