One of the most challenging things about having a child with a restricted diet is letting go! When the kids stay with someone else, I can't read every label or micro-manage what M consumes. M is super lucky to have an amazing family that understands the gluten-free diet and will go out of their way to accommodate her.
This past weekend, my sister (TT) and her husband (E) kept the kids so the hubby and I could grab a drink or two with friends. Fun was had by all and TT even made gluten-free pancakes for the kids in the AM!
Apparently, Peanut did not get the memo that this was a funny face picture! Even Lula, my "fur-niece" got in on it!
I guess taking pictures of everything is genetic! Thanks sis!
The pancakes got 3 "GLUTEN-FREE THUMBS UP!"
Does your family have a favorite weekend breakfast food?
How nice that your sister & BIL took the kids so that you guys could go out. My boys are BIG on chocolate chip pancakes and I usually make them on Sundays for a little treat :)

ReplyDeleteMy son loves pancakes (which I make a lot of on the weekends and then have leftovers in case he wants them during the week.) I actually saw this GF pancake mix at Target a week ago. I considered buying it, just to try it out!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome of them to give you a night off. Looks like it was a good time for all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift that you got a night off. Unfortunately, I work every weekend so I don't get to have a favorite family meal.
ReplyDeleteWe love bacon and eggs for breakfast. Especially when we get it farm fresh from the farmers market. What a great pic! Chrystal @ YUMeating.com

ReplyDeleteReally cute pictures and cute kids! It was nice you were able to have a night out. We don't usually do a breakfast but if we do it is bacon and eggs and toast.
ReplyDeleteThis is really a great post! I love those photos of your kids. I know having a restrictive diet can be challenging. You need discipline to stick with it. I think you’re doing a pretty good job taking care of your kids. :)

ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how nerve racking that must be- other people aren't nearly as observant as yourself. It is great you have people you can trust.
ReplyDeleteThose look really good! I will keep an eye out for that brand. We like the dairy/gluten free frozen ones from trader joes, but they aren't as fluffy!
