We have been counting down the days until our local farmers market opened for the Summer. Today was the day! I called a friend of mine, grabbed the camera, loaded up the kiddos and drove all of 2 miles to check out products from local businesses.
The Kennesaw Farmers Market is open Tuesdays from 7 AM until 1 PM (May-October)
The tents set up by Kennesaw's "Old Country Store" at Adams Park.
Apparently it is like a miniature cabbage? Beautiful produce from Spreading Oaks Farm!
The Owl Cafe & Bakery had these delicious cakes in mason jars- M loved the gluten-free chocolate!
The Southern Estate Alpacas booth had products made from a local herd's wool. Love these!
They also have Alpaca dryer balls! Apparently they are a 100% natural alternative to dryer sheets!
Don't forget to pickup all-natural ice cream for your four-legged family members!
Have you been to your local farmers market?
We have goat products at the Marietta market, but not alpaca - I love the dryer balls!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a Farmer's Market since moving here to Georgia. I really need to start going to get fresh produce that I know doesn't have all the chemicals in it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Our farmer's markets around here are just food and homemade jellies and things. They don't sell other stuff like yours does.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to the Kennesaw one. When we were in a CSA we got Kohlrabi. It tasted nothing like cabbage to me. It thought it was a root vegetable. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteKohlrabi is my absolute favorite!! We grow our own now and have since the first time we tried it. I saute it in butter with seasonings and it's to die for!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love farmers markets! They are so fun. I love fresh flowers, for sure, and tomatoes. I stock up when I go.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great! Our farmers market opens soon too, I'm excited!

ReplyDeleteIf I have been to a farmer's market, it has been a long time ago. Maybe we can go this summer.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE going to the Farmer's Market! It used to be that there was only one in our area that would open maybe a few months out of the year. Now they have sprouted up everywhere! There are at least 5 different ones going on every single Sunday and they all have different vendors which I love!
ReplyDeleteFarmers Markets are a great part of Spring/Summer. Those dryer balls look neat!
