Mommy & Me: Silly Selfie Edition

Many children with Aspergers struggle reading social cues and even more difficulty with expressing themselves. If you ever get the chance to meet M, you will see that she is a child of many expressions. She will pick up on the facial expressions of others- if she decides to look up at them.

Recently, M has started asking to practice her emotions when taking pictures. She calls out the emotion, we both make expressions accordingly and I snap a quick picture. If we have the time to go through all the emotions, we can get a good "happy" shot- including eye contact. Not to mention, we have all these hilarious outtakes to share with you!

The following collection of "selfie" shots were taken the day I received my "fancy camera." I was into taking pictures of anything and everything. Needless to say, holding a Nikon D3200 at arm's length is challenging- but so worth it for these priceless shots with my girl!

"Sad"

"Angry"

"Very Angry"

"Surprised"

"Frightened"

"Silly"

"Happy"

We hope you enjoyed silly selfies! Take time this week to be shamelessly silly with your kids!

Don't forget to get in front of the camera and take pictures with your kids!

  8. Hahah, cute pics!

I have Aspeger's myself and I often forget to show emotions on my face. Either that or I do them too dramatically. It's good to practice and get in the habit of doing them correctly because I end up confusing my family a lot, lol.
